Staying Present

“Human Connections are Deeply Nurtured in the Field of Shared Story”

-Jean Houston (Author)

What a “shared story” we are experiencing within the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a leader and business owner of TC&A – I never would have imagined, “Life and work would look this way…”

And yet, the journey of living and working is one where a COLLECTIVE – “WE” are ALL encountering various hardships and obstacles in both our lives and work.

EVERYONE is Going Through This Period of Time…

We, at TC&A are firm believers, it is in the HOW we accept our journey, which provides us with the tools and resources to progress in and through the difficult and most challenging of journey’s and time.

Our mindset, behaviors, abilities, and desires, make the biggest difference in our outcomes. This is WHY, “STAYING PRESENT” is so vitally important to you and to us.

As we “STAY PRESENT”

Our mindsets set the course – We can CHOOSE to be COOPERATIVE

Our behaviors guide the course – We can CHOOSE to be CONSIDERATE

Our ability to create “marginal gains” progress supports our course – Be CENTERED. We can CHOOSE to be CENTERED and create progress

Our desires to, “Rise Above” helps us to never give up on our course – Be CONFIDENT at your CORE. We can CHOOSE to be CONFIDENT at the CORE of who we are…Our CHARACTER

TC&A is here to support you, your Leadership and your Teams. Here are a few thoughts in “STAYING PRESENT” that we believe will benefit you, both in your work life and personal life.

Staying Present In Our Communication

1. Create COOPERATIVE Conversations

Choose to interact with others with a cooperative mindset.
Choose to be less defensive in your tone and words
Choose to listen, rather than try to win within a dialogue
Choose to allow the one you are listening to – to be heard

2. Create CONSIDERATE Conversations

Choose to provide a safe environment for difficult, complex or emotional issues that need to be addressed
Choose to clear away distractions that keep you from being present within a dialogue
Choose to listen to understand with good and healthy questions or comments
Choose to look for nonverbal communication – What is the person telling you with their subtle body language?

3. Create CENTEREDNESS Conversations

Choose to engage people – Studies show, the greater engagement and connections, the better the performance.
Choose to be clear – Studies show, clarity creates the advantage in performance
Choose positive energy – Studies show, a leaders positive energy impacts performance
Choose genuine interest in others – Studies show care, appropriate empathy, curiosity and knowing others, influences performance

4. Create CORE Conversations

Choose your ability to know more… “Tell me more statements…”
Choose confidence over your own fears… “Share stories…”
Choose to hear the concern… “I hear this is really difficult for you…”
Choose the best for others… “I really want the best for you…”

When we “STAY PRESENT” in our communication, we can use the tools above to “Rise Above” any and all conversations, complexity and challenges.

While we are all leading ourselves and managing our responsibilities – We have found, we keep a healthy mindset and healthy behaviors when we take good care of ourselves. Below are 5 ways you can “Take Good Care of You:”

  1. Keep a routine - We wake up at the same time of day and make our bed every day!

  2. Keep work hours - We continue to work on present and new tools and resources for you. And, we are Coaching/Consulting every day

  3. Keep up self-care - We are mindfully using our energy for the things that serve us well and choosing to eat healthy (mostly, we do enjoy baking)

  4. Keep connected - We are providing coaching, staying connected and Zoom meetings for all family, friends and clients

  5. Keep an evening routine - We are managing our work hours, finding films, movies or documentaries that make us laugh. And, we are going to bed at a reasonable time

We are here for you and we are supporting you with the best of our 5 C’s of LEADERSHIP:
